An Optimize button appears right in the ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude prompt box — or press Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+O. Review the rewrite in a preview, then accept it.

Usage reports

A built-in 30-day dashboard charts your requests by provider and by app. Computed and stored entirely on your device — nothing is sent anywhere, and it clears itself after 30 days.

Always-current models

The model list loads live from each provider, so new flagship models show up automatically — no extension update needed. Just verify your key and pick from the latest.

AskBetter has no backend. Everything runs in your browser. Your API key never touches a server we own.

No backend server

API calls go directly from your browser to your chosen AI provider. There is no intermediate server.

Local storage only

Settings, API keys, and your 30-day usage history live in chrome.storage.local on your device. Never synced to the cloud.

Key isolation

Your API key is only readable by the background service worker. Content scripts — and the pages you visit — never see it.

Zero telemetry

No analytics or crash reporting ever leaves your device. The usage Reports are computed and stored only on your machine — we never see them.
